Apple has just sent out a press release announcing the impending launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on September 25. It notes in its press release that the customer response to the new iPhones has been “incredibly positive.”
It also announced that iOS 9, which was released towards the middle of last week, is now already running on more than 50 percent iOS devices out there. This is the fastest adoption rate that Apple has ever seen for its iOS release.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in Australia, United Kingdom, France, United States, China, and other countries starting from September 25. Apple encourages walk-in customers in its press release to arrive early at the company’s retail stores to ensure they are able to get their hands on an iPhone.
“Customer response to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been incredibly positive, we can’t wait to get our most advanced iPhones ever into customers’ hands starting this Friday,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iOS 9 is also off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple’s history.”
The new iPhones will also be available through retail stores of T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint in the US. However, customers interested in buying the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus via the ‘iPhone Upgrade Program’ will have to purchase the handset from an Apple retail store itself.
Lastly, Apple notes that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will only be available through reservation in China, Hong Kong, Japan and in tax-free states in US.
