One of Apple’s core strengths is its customer service and technical support, and according to a new report Apple is looking for ways to make it even easier and faster.
According to a report published on November 20, Apple is reportedly developing an iOS support app that would provide its customer base with even easier access to the company’s support staff, troubleshooting tips for their device, and repair options. These options would cover iPhones, iPads, and other Apple-branded devices.
The images of the unofficial app were provided to Sonny Dickson and initially published by uSwitch Tech, and showcase a series of details about the app itself, as well as the services it would be tied to.
Specifically, users of the app would have access to Apple’s support teams, including an option for a direct conversation through chat. Users would also be able to get the information necessary to send in a device for service, and schedule a in-store visit. There is also an option to read through a variety of support documents for Apple’s devices as well.
According to a source, the initial report indicates that, unsurprisingly, the new app will be tied directly to the user’s Apple ID. That should make it possible for the app to list all of the user’s devices, making support or technical assistance even easier for registered products.
There are still unanswered questions, however. It is unknown whether or not this is a standalone app, one that could be built into future iOS releases like other Apple apps. Another option is Apple building these app features into the Apple Store iOS app.
