Apple has expanded its Personal Pickup service to another six countries throughout Europe. This allows customers to reserve their goods online and then collect them at their local Apple Store, avoiding lengthy lines and disappointment when new items sell out.
The countries now supported by Personal Pickup are France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. Customers in these territories can use the Apple Online Store or the Apple Store app for iOS to buy and reserve new purchases, then pick them up at a time to suit them.
There are a number of advantages to this; not only does it mean you get your goods the same day, but it also ensures your item will be waiting for you when you get to the Apple Store, you won’t have to line up to make the purchase when you get there, and you won’t have to wait in for delivery.
Personal Pickup orders are typically ready for collection in just a few hours, providing they are in stock, and customers just need a photo ID to pick them up.
Personal Pickup was first introduced in the U.S. in 2011, but Apple has been slow to make it available internationally. Last month, the company made the service available in Australia and Canada, and then the United Kingdom for the first time.
