The two main methods of unlocking your iPhone is Touch ID and Lock screen passcode.PressUnlock is a new jailbreak tweak that provides an alternative way of unlocking your iPhone, which is faster than entering a passcode.
The tweak allows you to specify a single digit number that lets you unlock your iPhone. By tapping and holding on this digit on the Lock screen passcode, your iPhone will be automatically unlocked without you entering the complete passcode. For instance, if you assign the tweak to the number 2 then tapping and holding on this key in the Lock screen passcode will unlock and provide you access to your iPhone.
This a very convenient and quick way of unlocking your iPhone using the Lock screen passcode but it comes with an obvious tradeoff – your iPhone will now be less secure as anyone who knows the secret digit can easily unlock your device without the hassle of entering the correct passcode.
Once installed, you can get started by venturing into the tweak’s preferences pane in Settings and enabling it. From there, you can choose a number from the range of 0 – 9 which will unlock your iPhone when you tap and hold on it in the Lock screen passcode.
The only time that the tweak will not work is when you respring or restart your device. You are required to enter the complete passcode of your iPhone before the tweak starts to work again.
Although PressUnlock provides a quick way of unlocking your iPhone, I would recommend that you disable it if you are concerned about the security of your device.
The tweak is available as a free package on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and supports devices running iOS 7 through iOS 9. Are you going to give it a try? Let us know in the comments section below.
