LG Display rumored to be the sole supplier for Apple Watch 2 display

The Retina display on the Apple Watch is currently the best smartwatch display in the market. The flexible P-OLED panel of the smartwatch is supplied to Apple by a sole supplier: LG Display.

Apple likes to diversify its supply-chain process and usually relies on multiple partners to supply components for its products. However, the company made an exception for the Apple Watch, and if reports from the Korean media are to be believed, the company will again be relying only on LG Display to supply P-OLED panels for the Apple Watch 2.
Apparently, Apple took this decision after a lot of consideration. It eventually went with LG Display as the sole supplier of P-OLED displays for the Apple Watch 2 because of the unmatched performance of their displays and yield rates.

The Apple Watch 2 is rumored to come out sometime in 2016 with faster internals and a slimmer design. It is unclear if Apple and LG will be making any further improvements to the display for the second generation of the smartwatch or not.
