Twitter is removing the 140 character limit from its Direct Messages

Twitter has always been about keeping connected with people and brands across its social network, all with the hitch that users only have 140 characters to do it.
That will be changing in July sometime, though, as the social network has announced that it will be removing the 140 character limit from its Direct Message feature next month. Direct Messages are the messages that Twitter users can send directly to other users, without having to “@” them, or let everyone else who follows them see the tweet.
Twitter says that they don’t have an exact launch date just yet, but they are opening up documentation for the feature for developers, along with the new API, which will hopefully mean their specific Twitter clients can support the feature when it rolls out.
The developers that are really ahead of the game can actually add the functionality now into their apps, but it won’t go live until sometime next month.
