Earlier in August, Apple revitalized its website and changed some things around, including integrating the online store with the main section of the site.
Now, according to a new report published recently by 9to5Mac, Apple is looking to make a few more changes to the website, this time geared towards appointments for Workshops and the Genius Bar. The report cites unnamed sources, and says that the integration of Genius Bar and Workshop appointments will be similar to that of the online store’s integration earlier in the month.
The changes, which Apple reportedly calls “Concierge,” will go into effect on Tuesday, August 25.
As it stands right now, scheduling a Workshop or a Genius Bar visit takes visitors to a unique page within the site, but that will be changing. Now, once the integration rolls out, the scheduling will be stitched in with the individual Apple Retail Store pages. It’s all been rewritten to focus on mobile devices and accessibility. As Apple pointed out in a note to retail employees, “Customers with visual or hearing impairments can more easily use the Concierge system.” The Concierge system will have a unique appearance depending on the type of device it’s being accessed from, whether that’s the desktop or a mobile device.
The changes should be going into effect next week. What do you think of this new integration in Apple’s website?
