On Monday, October 12, Apple released a brand new beta for developers to get their hands on and try out.
Apple on Monday officially released a new beta of its upcoming iOS 9.1, this marking the fifth release for the software — just under one week since the release of beta 4. This release is build 13B137, and it’s unknown at this point what’s new in the latest release. It’s available both for developers and public beta testers.
iOS 9.1 does host new features, like a slate of new emoji, including a middle finger to really get the point across. There are updates to the Live Wallpapers, as well as a setting that will let iOS 9.1 users disable the photos for contacts within the Messages app.
Here are the devices iOS 9.1 beta 5 is compatible with:
- iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
- iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPad 2
- iPad mini 3, Retina iPad mini (iPad mini 2), iPad mini
- 5th generation iPod touch
For those that are running the current beta, iOS 9.1 beta 5 is available as an over the air (OTA) update. It can also be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center.
