Apple Music wins exclusive rights to Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 World Tour LIVE’

Taylor Swift has announced a collaboration with Apple that will see her new concert movie, “The 1989 World Tour LIVE,” streamed exclusively on Apple Music. The film will be available on December 20, following the end of Swift’s “1989” tour this month.
Filmed at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia, during one leg of Swift’s world tour, the “1989” film include’s Swift’s entire performance on the night of November 28 — which includes guest performances — plus “never before seen footage filmed backstage.”
The announcement comes just six months after Apple Music made its public debut and actually brought about a disagreement between Apple and Swift over the service’s three-month free trial. Apple initially planned to pay no royalties during that trial period, but after an open letter from Swift that criticized that decision, the company eventually gave in and agreed to pay up.
Apple’s decision persuaded Swift to allow the “1989” album to be streamed on Apple Music, giving the service an advantage over rivals like Spotify. You can watch the trailer for Swift’s “1989” movie below.
When the movie becomes available on December 20, you’ll be able to watch it on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch; on Mac and PC through iTunes, and on your Apple TV. Swift will also appear on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe at 9 a.m. PST today to talk about it.
