BBC today launched its official ‘BBC iPlayer’ app for the fourth generation Apple TV in the United Kingdom making it the first time that the public service broadcaster has launched its app on Apple’s HDMI streaming box.
It is likely that the faster internals and a dedicated OS and app store played a key role in making BBC launch its iPlayer app for the Apple TV 4.
Using the app, you will be able to enjoy live streams of BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, BBC Four and other channels. For now, the BBC iPlayer app is only available in the UK’s tvOS App Store.
Apple had launched the fourth generation Apple TV along with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at its ‘Hey Siri’ event in September. The latest generation media streaming device from the company comes with significantly powerful internals than its predecessors, features 2GB RAM and features a dedicated OS and App Store of its own.
How happy have you been with your Apple TV 4 and the apps and games available for it?
