Sprint is bringing back two-year contracts

Sprint HQ
Right at the beginning of 2016, Sprint confirmed it wouldn’t be hosting two-year contracts anymore.
Sprint’s motion to move away from two-year contracts was just following suit with the rest of the mobile industry’s wireless carriers, but it turns out that didn’t last all that long. Fierce Wireless reports that the Now Network has confirmed that it is once again offering two-year contracts for subscribers that want a new device:
“We listened to our customers and are giving them more choices to get their new device. Sprint is the only carrier to offer the most choices to obtain a new device — lease, installment bill, two-year contract, or pay full retail price.”
Installment plans and leases are dominant in the wireless industry in the U.S. at this point, at least as far as the major carriers are concerned. Sprint’s decision to go back to the contracts is an interesting one, to say the least. What do you think of it?
