While Apple is currently working on making some sweeping changes to its physical retail stores, another big change might be coming to the in-store tutoring programs, too.
As revealed in a recent article published by MacRumors and citing unnamed sources, Apple is said to be removing its “One to One” tutoring program it currently offers, and has been offering for quite some time now. According to the report, Apple is looking to drop the tutoring program in light of its broader tutoring lessons, which the company hosts for free at its retail stores, and can be attended by more people at once.
The One to One program was an additional $99 cost, which brought one-on-one tutoring to those who owned a Mac, iPad or iPhone. The lessons lasted from 30 minutes to 60 minutes for Personal Training sessions, and there were other group options, too, including a 90-minute group session. As is the case with the group sessions that Apple offers for free, the One to One program focused on lessons for individual aspects of any device, or even apps and features, including iMovie, Final Cut Pro, iTunes and more.
The report also indicates that Apple will be restructuring its tutoring lessons around themes, including “Create” and “Discover.” The $99 One to One program will be dissolved into the free workshops at some point in the future, but the report did not indicate when the change will go into effect.
