According to news site Hoodline, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco has been booked for a private event through September 13, and is under heavy security and patrolling from SFPD officers.
The timing of this “private” event along with the level of the security deployed has led to speculations that Apple will be holding the launch of the next generation iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at this auditorium.
According to one observer, huge power generators have been installed at the auditorium, which take up one whole of the parking slot. Additionally, the sidewalks of the auditorium from at least two sides are inaccessible. Further adding fuel to this rumor are some documents from the Planning Department. They show that four windows of the auditorium will be removed and instead a 15ft tall fibreboard logo will take its place, which will hang outside the building.
The logo displayed on the documents does not resemble Apple’s logo in any way, but it is entirely possible that the company has used another logo to confuse prying reporters and observers.
Apple has held its September iPhone unveil event at various auditoriums located in San Francisco, so it is entirely possible that the company will be holding the iPhone 6s launch event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium this year. The company is rumored to unveil the new iPhones on September 9, so the invites from the company to the press should be going out any day now.
