MyHeart Counts, one of the first apps to support Apple’s ResearchKit platform, is now available to users outside of the U.S. for the first time. Users in the U.K. and Hong Kong can now download the app and begin monitoring their cardiovascular health.
Built by Stanford University, the MyHeart Counts app gives users the opportunity to take part in a week-long test every month that monitors heart health while they undertake day to day activities. It also includes a 6-minute walk test, and optional surveys.
In return for your data, the MyHeart Counts app gives you a comprehensive summary of your heart’s health, and areas for improvement. The app can also provide feedback about physical activity, blood pressure, diet, and cholesterol levels.MyHeart Counts was first launched back in March, and has since amassed more than 41,000 users. Until now, however, it has only been available in the U.S., but as of today, users in the U.K. and Hong Kong will be able to download it from the App Store and take part in the studies.
