App content is coming to Safari search results in iOS 9 as Google expands app indexing

Google iOS 9 app indexing
For iOS 9 users, deep linking is one new feature that companies like Google can take advantage of.
Today, Google announced that the app indexing feature it has under its belt is now compatible with HTTP deep linking standards baked into iOS 9. What that means for iOS 9 users is that they’ll be able to open mobile app content right from the search results page in Safari.
So when a user looks up a business through Google in Safari and a Yelp! link shows up, if the user actually clicks on that link they’ll have the Yelp! app open up on their phone — as long as they have the Yelp! app installed, of course.
That’s a nice addition from Google, and a long-time coming considering app indexing was announced back in May of this year.
