Samsung changed course in 2015 with the launch of not only one high-end flagship phone in the Galaxy S6, but also managed to release another one at the same time: The Galaxy S6 edge.
The differences between the two handsets are minimal to say the least, but the most obvious is the dual-edge design for the display that the Galaxy S6 edge brings to the table. It’s certainly a one-of-a-kind device in the design department by utilizing two edges, even if it takes an obvious cue from Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge back in 2014.
The Galaxy S6 edge was reviewed over onAndroid Beat recently, and one of the many takeaways is that it’s a beast of a device, and that, for many, it should pack enough power to get through any and all days of usage. Of course, one thing to note is that the Galaxy S6 edge costs more than the Galaxy S6 proper, and the features tied to the Galaxy S6 edge’s dual-edged display may not be enough to warrant the purchase.
One thing’s for sure, though, and that’s that the Galaxy S6 edge is a beautiful handset, with glass and metal and a beautiful display. The camera on the back is fantastic, according to the review, and Samsung’s alterations to its proprietary software in TouchWiz UI are all for the better.
All in all, it looks like Samsung has reentered the flagship smartphone race with a major contender. What do you think of the Galaxy S6 edge? How do you think it compares to the LG G4, another Android-based flagship recently launched?
