Tuesday, November 10, is another beta day for Apple, as the company has already released the third betas for iOS 9.2 and OS X El Capitan 10.11.2.
Now, following on the heels of those releases, Apple has also seeded the second developer beta for tvOS 9.1, the platform running on Apple’s newest Apple TV. With this release, it comes just one week after Apple released the first beta for the set-top box’s operating system, and it comes just under two weeks after Apple officially released the new Apple TV.
The second tvOS 9.1 beta is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update for those that are already running the first beta on their hardware. However, for developers that will be installing the second beta from scratch, you’ll need to plug the Apple TV into a computer via a USB-C to USB-A cable. The software for the set-top box must be downloaded and installed through iTunes on the computer.
As far as what’s new in the update, it’s unknown at this point. Apple has pinpointed focuses for developers with networking and tweaks to scrolling, but otherwise it’s unknown what Apple is adding to the mix. If anything new and noteworthy is discovered, we’ll update accordingly.
Are you already trying out Apple’s tvOS betas?
