Snapchat has become wildly popular amongst those who love to share quick photos of events happening around them, and now it’s getting a bit more secure, too.
Snapchat’s latest update for the iOS app features a new two-factor authentication to make logging in a bit safer, as well as making sure that the snaps taken by individuals are a bit more secure as well. The security step has to be activated within the Settings of the app. Once that’s done, Snapchat will have the user input a six-digit code as they sign into a device they’ve never signed into before.
As is par for the course for this type of security measure, that aforementioned six-digit code will be sent to the phone number attached to the user’s account via a standard text message. Once the code is received it can be entered into the app, and then access is granted. Once that’s all set up and ready, users can also opt to create a recovery code, too, just in case.
The update, which was released on June 8, also includes the ability for the user to quickly switch cameras on their iPhone just by double-tapping the display while using the app.
Snapchat is free, and a link to the app is available below.
