YouTube Gaming rumored to launch with an iOS app on August 26

YouTube Gaming
Back in June, Google officially took the wraps off YouTube Gaming, a director competitor to Twitch — the massively popular service that allows folks to livestream content, like video games.
YouTube Gaming was always set to launch in the summer of 2015, and now, according to a report published recently by TechCrunch and citing unnamed sources, Google is gearing up to launch YouTube Gaming on Wednesday, August 26. The site will officially go live at gaming.youtube.com, and once the digital curtains go up it will be a direct competitor to the aforementioned Twitch, which is now owned by Amazon.
When the service goes live, it is said that an iOS app will launch in correspondence with it.
It will be interesting to see if YouTube Gaming can compete with Twitch. The latter has an established base at this point, and already has some of the most popular streamers, and covers the most popular games, on the planet. Of course, YouTube is a brand in and of itself, with a backend to support this type of video service, so it might be only a matter of time.
