Earlier in October, Apple officially debuted the Beats Pill+, a Bluetooth-equipped speaker that heralded in the first new design from Beats since the company’s acquisition by Apple.
Now, almost 20 days later, Apple has finally launched the speaker in its online store. There are two models to choose from, one in white and the other in black, and each is priced at $229.95. Shipping for the white model will happen immediately, with the “Fastest” option offering arrival dates as early as tomorrow, October 27. The “Free” option says it will arrive on Wednesday, October 28.
The black variant will arrive between October 29 and November 2 with the Fastest shipping option chosen, while the Free option will see the Pill+ speaker arrive between October 30 and November 3. So, not much of a difference there.
The Beats Pill+ features Bluetooth-connectivity, so connecting it to your iPhone, iPod touch or even your MacBook should be relatively painless and quick. It’s equipped with an active 2-way crossover system, which Apple says will offer an optimized sound field for dynamic range and clarity. It also offers charging by way of a Lightning cable, so even if you lose the one that comes with the speaker, as long as you can find your iPhone’s cable you’ll be safe to keep listening for 12 hours on a full charge.
For $229.95, do you plan on picking up the Beats Pill+?
