After introducing voice calling support earlier this year, WhatsApp is now working on adding video calls support to their messaging service.
As per Macerkopf, the WhatsApp team is internally testing v2.12.16.2 of the app that allows you to talk to your friends through video calling. The feature has already been finalised and will be added to a release build in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the WhatsApp team is working on a new design for the app with greater focus on the color green. They are also testing out a tabbed interface for the app that will make it easy to switch between chats.
The tabbed interface will work in a manner that is similar to how it has been implemented on browsers like Safari and Chrome, which means that every new chat will get a new tab of its own to make jumping between multiple chats easier. However, it is unclear how the interface will cope up when more than a few tabs are opened at any given time.
WhatsApp is known for being extremely slow in rolling out major new features to all their users. So, irrespective of what the report says, don’t expect video calling to make its way to WhatsApp anytime before the middle of Q1 of next year.
Are you excited about WhatsApp introducing video calling feature? Or are you a happy FaceTime user?
