Almost two months ago, T-Mobile officially announced Binge On, a feature that allowed subscribers to stream content from some providers without impacting their high-speed data allotment every month.
When it launched, T-Mobile had 24 different partners attached, like Netflix and Hulu, to get subscriber attention for what the Un-carrier was trying to do. Now, the Magenta Carrier has announced that 14 additional providers have been added to the list, bringing the total to 38. That list includes A&E, Lifetime, the History Channel, and many others.
Here’s the list, with the provider names supplied by T-Mobile’s official announcement. You can check the full list of 38 titles here:

In a separate blog post, T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere, had comments regarding accusations that T-Mobile is throttling all video streamed to T-Mobile’s subscribers via the carrier’s network, whether they’ve activated the Binge On feature or not. The claims started with YouTube decrying T-Mobile’s feature, saying that its own videos were being throttled, despite not being a Binge On partner.
Soon after, T-Mobile said that it was “optimizing” videos, YouTube’s content included, in an effort to use less data for subscribers but still deliver them video content. The Electronic Frontier Foundation found that T-Mobile was indeed impacting every streaming video from its network with optimizations.
T-Mobile’s John Legere calls it “semantics” in a new video, and says that the carrier is trying to improve the customer experience overall, and that these optimizations are meant to do just that. He goes on to say that video streaming has gone up quite a bit since the unveiling of Binge On, saying that users are watching 12 percent more video than they were before.
“Customers now have the option to get WAY more video from their data plans PLUS FREE VIDEO from popular sites, AND more power and control over how they use their data. And customers want it! Video usage is huge! Just since launch, customers are watching 12% more video. In fact, we’ve already seen daily average viewership on one of our top services spike 66% among customers not on unlimited high-speed plans, in other words the ones who benefit from Binge ON the most! AND viewing time increased 23%. It’s crazy!”

If you’re under T-Mobile’s network umbrella, have you been impacted by the video optimizations?
