Apple launches replacement program for 3TB hard drives in some 27-inch iMac models

27-inch iMac
On Friday, June 19, Apple announced a new replacement program for the 3TB hard drive found in some iMac models.
The replacement program specifically notes the 3TB hard drives in question are found in some 27-inch iMac models, but does not specifically mention a product number. However, Apple does say that some of these affected machines were sold between December 2012 and September 2013.
According to Apple, it’s launching this new replacement program due to some of the components that “may fail under certain conditions.” It added that owners of these machines should replace “affected hard drives as soon as possible.” The company also states that these machines can take advantage of the program through authorized service providers, tech support channels and Apple retail stores proper.
Apple indicated that it is contacting owners of these machines directly, but that if a message isn’t received, owners can also submit a claim through the official page announcing the program, which is linked below.
Owners have until December 19, 2015, or “three years from its original date of sale, whichever provides longer coverage for you,” to submit their claim.
Do you have a machine that’s suffering from this issue?
