OS X El Capitan’s latest beta hints at 4K 21.5-inch iMac display, and Bluetooth multi-touch remote

Two days ago, Apple seeded the second OS X El Capitan beta to developers, and now a few interesting details are starting to come to light.
According to a report published recently by 9to5Mac, and citing reference points found within the aforementioned beta, Apple is looking to add at least two worthwhile products to the market: A 4K 21.5-inch iMac display, as well as a Bluetooth remote with multi-touch support, which could very well be bundled with a brand new Apple TV at some point down the road.

First, the new display. According to the report, the new OS X El Capitan beta references support for a Mac display with a resolution of 4096×2034. The report reasons that, while the larger 27.5-inch iMac display packs a 5K display, the smaller panel could be upgraded with a 4K display easily enough.
On top of that, there is also a reference to a new Intel graphics chip known as Iris Pro 6200. That particular chip is a Broadwell-integrated chipset, and it would be a perfect fit for a 4K resolution display. With these two hints, it stands to reason that Apple has a nice upgrade for the 21.5-inch iMac coming down the line.

Finally, the latest El Capitan beta also sheds light on a new, Bluetooth-enabled multi-touch remote, which is also able to connect to devices via an infrared sensor. The remote also includes a trackpad that offers multi-touch support, as well as inertial scrolling support for good measure. The device might also support audio, which could mean that Siri functionality would be on board as well.
The report indicates that this Bluetooth remote could be a nice companion to an updated Apple TV set-top box, and indeed an earlier report from this year stated that an updated Apple TV would boast a remote with a touchpad.
While nothing is official just yet, the reference points do suggest that Apple has some worthwhile hardware to announce later this year — as is par for the course.
