Pinterest’s Buyable Pins and new ‘Shop our picks’ section now rolling out to iPhone and iPad users

At the beginning of June, the popular social networking service known as Pinterestannounced Buyable Pins, which would allow users to actually buy the things they were pinning in the app.
Now, Pinterest has taken to its blog to officially announce that its Buyable Pins, along with a brand new section to peruse, is rolling out to iPhone and iPad users in the United States. The company says that Buyable Pins are going to start showing up all over the network, including the home feed, on boards that users frequent often, and within search results as well.
The new “Buy It” pin is in blue, and for the products that are purchasable, that will show up on the associated content.
On top of that Pinterest is also launching a new area to browse, which the company is calling “Shop our picks.” In there, users can sift through a bunch of hand-picked pieces of content found on Pinterest. If the user is ready to buy, they can simply tap on the Buy It pin, or even just pin it at usual to save it later or share with other users.Pinterest users that buy content from the social network have the option to link a credit card to the account, or they can use Apple Pay. Once the user’s personal information is entered for the first purchase, they won’t have to enter it again.
Pinterest does point out that this rollout will take some time, though:
We’re rolling buyable Pins out to iPhone and iPad over the coming weeks. Update your app to make sure that you’ve got the latest version (and we’ll send an email to let you know when you have access). For all you Android and desktop Pinners, we’re working hard to get you buyable Pins in future releases.
A link to Pinterest, a free download, is available for those that want to jump into the pinning frenzy.
