When you receive a phone call on your iPhone, the whole call interface takes up your screen until you answer or reject it. This means that you can’t interact with the currently open app while there’s an incoming call. I find this very annoying and so do many people.
A new beta tweak by iMokhles named CallReply lets you get rid of this annoyance. The tweak displays the incoming call as a banner at the top of the screen allowing you to interact with the currently open app as well as answer or reject the call.
The banner displays the caller name or number along with two buttons for answering or declining it. There’s no way that you can dismiss the banner unless you answer or reject the call.
Once installed, CallReply doesn’t come with any additional configuration. It would have been nice if the developer equipped the tweak with customization options to change the look of the banner.
CallReply is current a beta tweak which means that it’s not stable yet although I didn’t face any issues using it. If you’d like to install it, you’ll first have to add the developer’s repo to Cydia: apt.imokhles.com. Once done, you can search for the tweak and install it.
There’s also an alternative tweak named CallBar that comes with tons of features and a heavy price tag but if you’re looking for a simple and free tweak then CallReply is the right choice for you. The only additional feature that I’d like to see in future updates is the ability to dismiss the banner with a swipe gesture without accepting or rejecting the incoming call.
Along with supporting phone calls, CallReply works with Facetime calls as well. Let us know what you think about the tweak in the comments section below.
