Over the past few days, there have been a couple of releases that aim to bring the 3D Touch menu to older devices running iOS 9. One of the major feature that these tweaks lack is the support for peek and pop functionality, which is one of our favorite 3D Touch features. UniversalForce is a new jailbreak tweak that enables peep and pop feature on any iOS 9 device.
If you’re not aware of what peek and pop is, it lets you get a quick preview of mail, photos, messages, map locations and much more. This feature has been exclusively available for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus which come with 3D Touch. However, UniversalTouch ports this feature to older devices as well.
Once you install it, you can head to any app and take advantage of peek and pop. For instance, when you’re in the Camera Roll, you can peek at a photo by pressing it for a short duration and then swiping up a little. A preview of the photo will then be displayed. Without lifting your finger off the screen, you can continue to swipe up to view the Quick Actions. Some previews such as mails support left and right swipe gestures as well for additional actions.
UniversalForce works will all the apps that support peek and pop such as links and mails.
It’s important to note that the tweak doesn’t enable 3D Touch Quick Actions. If you’d like to get this feature on your older device, you’ll have to use other tweaks such as Forcy and RevealMenu which we have reviewed earlier. As recommended by the developer, it’s best to use UniversalForce with RevealMenu so that you get the best of both worlds.
If you’d like to install UniversalForce, it is available in the following repo:http://repo.ioscreatix.com/. Let us know what you think about it in the comments section below.
