The iOS jailbreak tweak developer, TweakWiz, has been hard at work on his current project which is dubbed Griddy – the ultimate gridswitcher for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Those of you who are looking for something different from other app switching tweaks like Auxo may want to keep an extra eye out for this particular jailbreak tweakwhich is set to be released “soon.”
TweakWiz appears to be dropping hints of the impending tweak by releasing pictures, releasing a feature list and even going as far as releasing a video that showcases what the tweak can do.The picture can be seen above with a mockup of what various screens. The feature list was posted on a Reddit thread where the tweak developer shared the following information:
  • Select a default grid size for both portrait and landscape
  • Dynamically resize the grid using pinch gestures
  • Choose a horizontal or vertical grid layout for both portrait and landscape
  • Enable or disable grid animations, and customize their speed
  • Customize the grid scale
  • Customize the grid’s icon display: Normal, no icons, or only icons
  • Customize the icon scale
  • Change the icon position: Center, Top, Bottom, Left Right, Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, or Bottom Right
  • Adjust the switcher background blur intensity
The tweak overview video can be found below:
In the video the developer starts off by sharing the tweak configurations where there appear to be quite a slew of options. In the configuration section, users are given the ability to enable/disable the tweak. Aside from this there is a Gesture Guide that walks users through the various gestures that can be used with the tweak for an optimal app switching experience, the ability to Respring and the ability to choose portrait settings, landscape settings, change the length of time for grid animations, change the scale of the grid, choose if you want a grid icon display (as opposed to the app displaying), the scale of the icons, the position of the app icons and whether you want a blur on the app (for aesthetic or privacy). There is a further level of customization as well where users can have the app screen sharing in grid view along with the respective app’s icon (as well as even choosing the position of where the icon displays). In the various portrait and landscape settings you can choose to pick the shape of the grid as well (so you should be able to have a vertical grid even when in landscape mode and vice versa if you prefer to).
It should be noted here that seeing a grid view of the apps or the icons of the apps that are open looks quite polished and amazing (see for yourself). With some quick gestures you can quickly swap through the grid size as well enabling you to quickly toggle through various apps that are open with ease. It also includes the ability to clear all of the open apps at once with a simple button that will kill all running apps.
For those of you who are just as impressed as we were with the tweak information, you’ll be happy to know the jailbreak tweak will be compatible with iOS 8/iOS 9 and set you back no more than $1.99. Unfortunately as mentioned before, there has been no set release date as of right now but we’ll be sure to let you know when it is out and write a review!
