PickPocket: Jailbreak Tweak keeps your iPhone secure in case of theft

We’ve seen jailbreak tweaks such as iCaughtU Pro which keeps your device secure by taking a photo automatically when the wrong passcode is entered on your iPhone and emails it to you along with the exact location. PickPocket is another jailbreak tweak that offers a few new perks to enhance your iPhone security.
The tweak which is currently flagged as a beta package restricts access to certain functionality of iOS until the right password is entered. If you hold down the Sleep/Lock button to power off your device, the tweak will display a pop up requiring you to enter the correct password before you can continue. If the wrong password is entered, access will be restricted.
Additionally, if the number of incorrect tries exceeds a certain limit when unlocking youriPhone or attempting to power off then it will automatically start an alarm sound. If this happens, the tweak automatically raises the volume to the max level and disables the physical volume buttons so that it can’t be reduced. The only way to stop the alarm is to enter the correct passcode.

Once you’ve installed PickPocket, venture into the tweak’s preferences pane to get started. From there, you can enable or disable it on demand as well as set the password for accessing the Slide to Power off functionality. You can also enable or disable alarms and set the maximum number of incorrect tries allowed before an alarm goes off on your iPhone.  For these changes to take effect, you’ll have to perform a respring.

PickPocket also offers an additional feature that is disabled in the current version. When the maximum number of incorrect tries exceeds, the tweak displays a pop up containing your contact information including your name, phone number, email , country etc. This allows people to contact you in case they find your device and don’t intend to steal it.
The tweak is currently in beta so it might not be stable yet but if you’re interested to give it a try, it is available on the developer’s repo at the following URL:repo.ziph0n.com or you can open this link from your iPhone to add the repo.
