12.9-inch iPad Pro to enter production in September with Sharp display

12.9-inch iPad Pro
Apple’s rumored iPad Pro is expected to enter production by the end of the third quarter of this year with a 12.9-inch display from Sharp, according to sources in Apple’s supply chain. The claims corroborate a previous report from reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.
“Apple’s reported 12.9-inch iPad will feature displays from Sharp while Foxconn Group subsidiary General Interface Solution (GIS) will be mainly responsible for touch modules, lamination and LCM assembly, according to industry sources,” reports DigiTimes.
“The device will enter production by the end of the third quarter and go into mass production in the fourth.”
On Wednesday, KGI Securities’ Ming Chi-Kuo also reported that the iPad Pro will enter mass production in October, with a Force Touch display and a stylus. It certainly seems like that will be the case, then, but what’s unclear at this point is when the device will go on sale.
Some reports have suggested that the device won’t be ready for Apple’s September iPhone event, and that sounds about right if it won’t enter mass production until October. The device could go on sale later this year, or perhaps even early 2016 — but that doesn’t mean Apple won’t announce it next month.
