Today is iPad Pro day, apparently. After an initial report surfaced that suggested the larger tablet will launch with a Force Touch-enabled stylus, and an analytics report that indicates a specific screen resolution, now another report has come to light.
Now, according to the same aforementioned analytics report, the iPad Pro is actually running iOS 9.1, and not iOS 9 — the newest version of Apple’s operating system that’s scheduled to launch along with the new iPhones in September. With the iPad Pro running an even newer, unannounced version of the mobile OS, it’s likely that the tablet won’t actually be launched in September alongside the new iPhones (and other iPads), but could see a launch later in the year.
That would line up with the earlier report, suggesting that mass production for the tablet will begin in October, which could mean the device will launch sometime during the holiday shopping season.
As for what’s included with iOS 9.1, that’s anyone’s guess at this point. Are you hoping the iPad Pro gets launched this year?
