Rumor: Apple Watch 2 to retain the same display size and resolution; will come with a bigger battery

Apple Watch display
Latest rumors about the next generation Apple Watch from South Korea claim that it will not be coming with a round display.
The rumor states that Apple is not going to jump on the “round smartwatch display” bandwagon anytime soon — something that almost all Android Wear OEMs have been doing recently.
The current OLED display on the Apple Watch is supplied by LG Display and the same company is reported to be the sole supplier of OLED displays for the Apple Watch 2 as well. However, this report claims that Apple has also tapped Samsung as a supplier for the flexible OLED panels that it will use on the Apple Watch 2. While these panels will be of the same size and resolution, they will feature better outdoor visibility.
The report from Naver further claims that the Apple Watch 2 will have the same display size and resolution as the current generation Apple Watch. However, the display will be slightly thinner that will allow Apple to fit in a slightly bigger battery life in the wearable. This should lead to a improvement in battery life in the second generation Apple Watch or Apple can use the extra battery capacity to add new features to the watch.
Apple could also make use of the new hexagonal batteries from LG Chem on the Apple Watch 2 that are 25% more efficient than traditional rectangular batteries.
