One of the notable changes of iOS 9 is its App Switcher, which now displays the row of app icons at the top instead of at the bottom, has the preview cards laid slightly on top of each other giving it a Cover Flow effect. If you wish to bring back the old look and feel of iOS 8’s App Switcher then you should check out a new jailbreak tweak known as AppSwiSize.
The tweak allows you to replace the iOS 9 App Switcher entirely with that of iOS 8. It also provides a few customization options such as resizing the app preview cards, hiding the app icons and disabling the app launch screens.
Once installed, AppSwiSize comes with a dedicated preferences pane where you’ll find a kill switch toggle to enable or disable it on demand along with making the customizations that the tweak offers. A respring is required for all the changes to be applied.
If you’re not fond of the new look of iOS 9 App Switcher then you should definitely consider checking out AppSwiSize. Keep in mind that the tweak doesn’t add recent contacts to the App Switcher which was present in iOS 8.
However, one of the main issues of AppSwiSize is that it isn’t stable. Sometimes when you tap on a preview card to open the corresponding app, it causes your device to crash and go into safe mode.
AppSwiSize is available as a free package on BigBoss repo and works on all iOS 9 devices. Make sure to let us know what you think about the tweak in the comments section below.
