To turn on the flash on your iPhone, you have to launch Control Center and tap on its icon in the Quick Launch section. This is quite inconvenient and not the quickest way of invoking the flashlight when you’re in a dark environment. Flash is a new jailbreak tweak that provides an easier way of turning on your iPhone’s whenever you need it.
When it detects that the environment around you is dark, it automatically adds a new flashlight icon to the bottom left corner of the Lock screen. Tapping on it invokes your iPhone’s flashlight and turns it on. Pressing it again allows you to switch it off.
It smartly takes advantage of the ambient light sensor built into your device in order to detect whether the environment around you is dark or not. If it’s not dark then it won’t display the flash icon on your Lock screen.
The tweak doesn’t come with any additional preferences pane for configuration. Once you’re in a dark environment, the torch icon will automatically appear on your Lock screen.
Flash is a clever tweak that introduces a very interesting concept. By taking advantage of the light sensor in your iPhone, it provides a quick shortcut for invoking flash whenever you need.
