Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is now available on iOS, a decade after making its original debut on the PlayStation Portable. The game has been enhanced and optimized for modern devices with touchscreens, and even boasts some 3D Touch controls for iPhone 6s.
Bringing GTA games to mobile ten years after their original release on console has become something of a tradition for Rockstar Games. It already offers Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas on iOS — and Liberty City Stories is the latest in the collection.
As its name suggests, this game takes us back to Liberty City, the setting for Grand Theft Auto 3, where we play Toni Cipriani, a former friend of the Leone family who has been in hiding.
“Now, the streets of Liberty City are in turmoil, as warring families vie for control and the town begins to self-destruct under waves of political corruption, organized crime, drug trafficking and union strikes,” reads the games description.
“Deranged hit men, morally depraved tycoons, cynical politicians and even his own mother stand in the way as Toni tries to bring the city under Leone family control.”
Liberty City Stories runs at 60 frames-per-second on iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPad Pro, and now boasts new high-resolution textures and character art, enhanced draw distance, cross-platform game saves via Rockstar Social Club, 3D Touch support for some controls, and more.
Liberty City Stories is priced at $6.99, and it’s a universal app that runs on iPhone, iPad, and the latest iPod touch. You can download it now by following the link below.
