Are you craving for a jailbreak tweak that allows you to search for texts in an app? If you answered yes to the question, you might be interested in a new jailbreak tweak called ControlF by Mohamed Marbouh.
The tweak takes advantage of Activator in order to allow users to quickly search for a text in any app and even in the Lock screen.
Once you invoke it via an Activator gesture, a pop-up appears where you can type in the text you’d like to search. You can then tap on the ‘Search’ button to search for the text within an open app or the Lock screen or you can press the ‘Google’ button to instantly search for it on Google. If a matching text is found, it will be marked with a red rectangular box. After installing ControlF, no configuration is required. All you have to do is to assign an Activator gesture to it. This can be done by via the Activator pane in Settings. Once done, simply perform the gesture assigned to the tweak and a pop-up box appears where you can type in the text to search.
Although ControlF is a very useful tweak, there’s still space for more improvements as it doesn’t work with many apps where you’d want to use the search functionality. For instance, I tested it with Safari and the Mail app but it didn’t work. It seems to support apps such as Messages, Settings, Notes etc.
ControlF is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $0.99 and supports iOS 8 devices only. I wouldn’t recommend you to buy it until the developer has ironed out all the known issues.
