One strength of Apple’s iOS has always been its place for great games, and now that library of titles will be growing yet again with a legendary RPG joining the fray.
Square Enix on Tuesday, June 16, confirmed that its noteworthy RPG title Final Fantasy VII, which launched in 1997 for Sony’s PlayStation home video game console, will be arriving on iOS in 2015. In fact, according to the publisher, the title will be arriving “before the end of summer,” which means fans of the title will not have to wait much longer to get the game on their iOS-based device.
It’s worth noting though, for those who watched the Sony E3 conference, that this is the original Final Fantasy VII, and not the remake that the company teased at the event. So expect 1997 PlayStation graphics along with that noteworthy story.Up until this point, Square Enix has released six title within the Final Fantasy brand for iOS, but it’s hard to argue that the arrival ofFinal Fantasy VII has been a longtime coming for many fans.
