Apple recently introduced Apple Music in iOS 8.4 comprised of 30 million tracks, which is the company’s strong take on music streaming service. With all the great features that it provides, one thing that many users would like to have is the ability to view song lyrics. LyricForMusic is a recently released jailbreak tweak that brings this feature to the Music app and supports Apple Music as well.
The tweak allows you to view the lyrics of any song you’re listening to directly from the Music app. All you have to do is to tap once on the song’s album artwork within the Now Playing interface and the lyrics will be displayed right away.
The tweak not only works with songs streamed from Apple Music but with any music that you have stored locally on your device. A single tap gesture on the album artwork is all that is needed to view the lyrics of a particular song.
Once installed, you should be able to view song lyrics directly within the Music app without any configuration. It doesn’t come with a dedicated preferences pane for additional settings such as enabling or disabling it so you’re good to go after installing it.
As mentioned earlier, to view the lyrics of a currently playing song, you’ll have to head to the Now Playing interface and tap on its album artwork. Doing so displays a blur overlay on the artwork containing the lyrics of the song. The tweak also requires a working internet connection in order to fetch the lyrics and display them.
If you’re a big fan of listening to music on your iPhone, you’ll definitely find this little tweak useful. However, it does have a few bugs that need to be fixed. For instance, it causes songs to be played after a slight delay even when you want to skip to the next track. For users who have iTunes Radio enabled, the tweak doesn’t seem to work with it as it displays nothing when the album artwork is tapped.
If all these bugs are to be fixed in future updates then LyricForMusic is definitely a handy tweak for viewing lyrics on the go without having to search on the web manually.
