T-Mobile is known as the “Un-carrier,” as the Magenta Network continues to do things that seem “un-carrier-istic” when compared to the other big names in the market. That trend continues, with a move focused entirely on the iPhone.
T-Mobile’s John Legere has come forward to announce the carrier’s next “amped” initiative, which sees iPhone owners get a bit of a perk when the next model, rumored to be known as the iPhone 6s, finally launches. Right now, as reported by The Next Web, if you pick up an iPhone for $15 per month on T-Mobile, you’ll be able to walk into a T-Mobile store when the next iPhone launches and swap out the older model for the newer one at no additional cost.
There’s a catch, though. You’ll need to sign up for T-Mobile and pick up an iPhone 6 right now, or at least do it before Labor Day (Monday, September 7). If you’re in the market to switch carriers, or jump under the network umbrella for the first time, T-Mobile is making it hard to ignore the carrier’s iPhone-specific deal.
It’s worth noting that if you’re already subscribed to T-Mobile and paying the $15 per month for the iPhone 6, you’re eligible for the deal already. Also, this specific deal is only available through the JUMP! On Demand trade-in program, which is the aforementioned $15 per month.
On top of that, T-Mobile will give iPhone owners priority access to the next iPhone over “regular customers,” as long as they order the next iPhone within 48 hours of its availability going live. So, iPhone owners have a chance, with T-Mobile, to get the device even sooner than those that simply walk into a T-Mobile store or even order it online.
What’s more, Apple Music is now part of T-Mobile’s Music Freedom initiative, which means that listening to streaming music through Apple’s new service will not count against the overall data.
