Twitter rolls out Periscope update that lets you mute users, Handoff streams to Mac

Twitter has rolled out a big update to live-streaming platform Periscope that finally allows you to mute users to avoid notifications for all of the accounts you follow. The update also allows you to send Periscope streams to your Mac using Handoff in OS X Yosemite.
Until now, Periscope users could either have notifications enabled or disabled; these were the only options. So to get notifications for your favorite streamers, you also had to have notifications for everyone else you were following — but that’s no longer the case.
The latest update lets you mute individual accounts that you’re not always interested in watching. You’ll still see them in your Periscope feed, but you won’t receive an alert when they go live.
In addition to this, you can now send Periscope streams from your iOS device to Safari on your Mac via Handoff. So if your battery is low but you don’t want to miss out, or you just want to enjoy the stream on a larger screen, all it takes is a few clicks to pick up on your Mac exactly where you left off on iOS.
The update also allows you to view your viewer stats for past broadcasts, and the option to set language preferences so you’ll see more relevant streams in Periscope’s global feed. You can download it from the App Store now via the link below.
