To counter the launch of the rumored iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display, Samsung is reportedly working on a tablet of its own with a gigantic 18.4-inch display.
Codenamed ‘Tahoe’, the 18.4-inch tablet from Samsung will feature a 1080p resolution, and is being targeted for use in class rooms, hotels, and in meetings.
Unlike the iPad Pro though, Samsung is not going to equip its gigantic tablet with high end internals. Instead, the report claims that the 11.9m thick tablet will come with an octa-core Exynos 7580 chipset clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage space, a microSD card slot, and a 5,700mAh battery. It will also feature an 8MP shooter on the rear and a 2.1MP camera on the front.
Apple has long been rumored to be working on a larger version of the iPad, dubbed iPad Pro, that will feature a 12.9-inch screen and will be targeted towards the enterprise market. However, it is only this year that reports suggest that Apple will unveil the tablet to take advantage of thenew multi-tasking features introduced in iOS 9 and to help boost the sales of the iPad.
