Tage beta brings Zephyr-like multitasking gestures to iOS 9

tage-tweak

Tage is one of the well known jailbreak tweaks that has taken the place of the once popular Zephyr tweak. It brings multitasking gestures to your iPhone that allows you to quickly switch apps, close them with just a single swipe gesture and much more. The good news is that the developer has released a beta version of the tweak that makes it compatible with iOS 9.
If you’re a big fan of the tweak or would like to give it a try, you’ll have to add a new source to Cydia first. To do so, head to the Sources tab in Cydia and add the following URL: http://apt.clezz.com. Once done, simply search for Tage and you should be able to find it on the newly added repository.
Tage offers gestures to perform the following actions:
  • Close currently open app or App Switcher
  • Quickly switch apps
  • Lock device
  • Power off, reboot, respring and quite all apps running in background
The tweak features five different gesture actions. You can swipe from the bottom left, right or center of the screen to launch the App Switcher or to close the currently open app. You can assign the screen area to each of these actions from the tweak’s preferences pane.
The next important functionality that Tage introduces is the ability to swipe from the left or the right edge of the screen to switch to the previous or the next open app.
Finally, when you swipe down the Home screen or an app card in the App Switcher, an action menu pops up allowing to perform one of the following actions:
  • Power Off
  • Reboot
  • Respring
  • Go to Safe Mode
  • Lock
  • Quit all apps
  • Quit background apps

With the beta version for iOS 9, I was only able to close apps  or launch the App Switcher with swipe gestures. The other features still have issues and didn’t work as expected. This isn’t surprising as the tweak is flagged as a ‘beta’ package and will take time until all the bugs are ironed out.
Tage beta offers a free 3 days trial for new users after which you have to purchase the full time license for $1.99.
