Up until now, we have heard various rumors and analysts claim that Apple will be launching a 4-inch iPhone with a metal chassis in a bunch of colors early next year.
The 4-inch iPhone, which was up until now referred to as the iPhone 6c in some rumors, will apparently be powered by an A9 chip, support Apple Pay, and be available in a multitude of colors.
However, a new report from Chinese website micgadget now claims that contrary to popular rumors, Apple will not be launching the 4-inch iPhone in February next year and the handset will not be called the ‘iPhone 6c.’ Instead, new rumors coming from the factories of Foxconn indicate that Apple plans on launching the ‘iPhone 7c’ in September next year.
The reason cited by the report for the delay in the launch of the 4-inch iPhone from Apple is confusing to say the least. It states that the launch of the iPhone 7c will help in increasing the demand and consumer interest of the iPhone 7 that will be launched sometime in autumn of 2016.
Like with all other iPhone rumors, it is recommended that you take this new rumor about the 4-inch iPhone with a huge pinch of salt. In my opinion, it makes almost no sense for Apple to launch this new 4-inch iPhone alongside the iPhone 7 in Q3, 2016, since the revamped design and features of the new iPhones in itself will make sure that the public interest for them is huge. Instead, I think reports about Apple launching the 4-inch iPhone in February next year are spot on, since this budget iPhone from Apple is aimed at markets like China and India.
