Misfit today announced its new fitness tracking wearable that it has developed in conjunction with Speedo: the Speedo Shine. Besides tracking walking, running, sleep, and other similar activities, the Shine is also capable of tracking your swimming sessions.
The waterproof wearable features a circular design made from machined aluminium that is similar to other trackers from Misfit. It will be available in a silver color that can be paired with a white or black band. Just like other wearables from the company, the Speedo Shine can last for up to six months on a single charge.
The Shine features a proprietary algorithm developed by Misfit and Speedo that can track and measure the laps you take in a swimming pool. The companies claim that the tracker features “industry-leading accuracy” and has been extensively tested at Speedo’s Aqualab.
The tracker in conjunction with its app for iOS is able to track and display information like the distance you have covered while swimming, number of laps, calories burned, and points earned. The tracker will also be able to sync with Speedo’s own Fit app down the line.
The Misfit Speedo Shine will go on sale on September 1 for $79.99. It will be available through the company’s online store and Apple’s retail store.
