When Apple announced its all-new News app alongside iOS 9 during the WWDC 2015 Keynote, it said that it would be available in the U.S., U.K. and Australia at launch. However, when Apple released iOS 9 last month, it was available only in the U.S.
We have shown you how to get the News app outside the U.S. by changing the Region in the Settings app. But that’s not the ideal solution as it means that you will see miles and $ instead of kilometers and £ if you’re in the U.K.
If you’ve jailbroken your iOS device on iOS 9 – iOS 9.0.2 using Pangu Jailbreak then you can now install the aptly named NewsOfTheWorld tweak by well-known developer Hamza Sood to enable the Apple News app for all regions.
Please note that you need to reboot your device twice after installing the tweak for it to work. Even Sood doesn’t know why it takes two reboots to enable the Apple News app.
