3D Touch has been the focal point of Cydia developers ever since the iOS 9 jailbreak was released. We’ve seen a couple of tweaks that port the feature to all iOS 9 devices, but a new jailbreak tweak known as Appendix brings a new way of interacting with your folders on the Home screen.
The tweak takes advantage of 3D Touch Quick Actions feature to allow users to quickly launch apps in a folder. When you force touch on a folder, the tweak opens a shortcut menu displaying the first four apps contained within the folder. You can tap on any one of the apps to launch them quickly. This means that you no longer need to open folders to launch an app.
Appendix doesn’t come with any configuration option so once you’ve installed it, you’re good to go. If you own a device that doesn’t support 3D Touch, you can still enjoy Appendix by making use of tweaks such as RevealMenu which brings 3D Touch functionality to all iOS 9 devices.
That’s all the tweak has to offer. The concept is quite interesting and something that Apple should consider implementing in future iOS software updates. It speeds up the overall process of launching apps in a folder.
If you’re interested to give Appendix a try, it is available for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and supports all iOS 9 devices. Make sure to let us know what you think about the tweak in the comments section below.
