Apple today expanded its in-store pickup option to Australia and Canada which makes them the first country outside the U.S. to get the service. Apple had first introduced its ‘Personal Pickup’ service in 2011.
With Personal Pickup, customers can place their order and pay for it through Apple’s online store or the Apple Store app. Then they simply head over to their nearest Apple Store to pickup their ordered items. Any product that Apple sells through its retail stores can be ordered and picked up later on using the Personal Pickup service.
With the holiday season just a couple of weeks away, Apple really could not have launched its Personal Pickup service in the country at a better time. This allows Canadian customers to skip the long queues in Apple Stores on Black Friday and during the rest of the holiday season for buying products for their loved ones.
It was only earlier this week that Apple expanded Apple Pay to Canada in association with American Express, with support for Australia also slated to arrive later this week.
