There’s no shortage of people trying to flip gadgets, and eBay is one easy avenue that they can take advantage of to sell popular, but hard to get, devices.
The latest device to join the ranks of the flippers is the Apple Pencil, the stylus accessory that launched alongside the iPad Pro last week. While the accessory is a huge selling point for the larger tablet, the Pencil hasn’t been readily available in stores, and even has a 4 to 5 week wait for shipments on orders placed from Apple’s website.
So, as has become standard practice over the years, some lucky individuals who were able to get their hands on one have turned to eBay to try and sell the Pencil to anyone that might be willing to fork over some extra money to get it. Specifically, as noted by9to5Mac, there’s one seller on eBay trying to sell the Apple Pencil for $400.
For those keeping track, that’s four times the price of the Apple Pencil normally, which retails for $99.
The effort of flipping a gadget or device isn’t new, and it will likely not go away any time soon. What do you think of the practice? Should someone pay $400 to get an Apple Pencil now, instead of waiting for a few weeks and saving a lot of money?
