Verizon isn’t even entertaining the idea of bringing back unlimited data

Unlimited data used to be a huge selling point for wireless carriers, but it’s certainly not the case these days — not for all the carriers, anyway.
In light of AT&T, Verizon Wireless’ biggest rival in the States, reintroducing an option to take advantage of unlimited data, all eyes turned towards Verizon to see if the Big Red carrier would bring something to the table as well. Unfortunately, as reported byCNET, that doesn’t look to be the case at all.
In an interview with the publication, Verizon’s Chief Financial Officer, Fran Shammo, said that, “at this point,” the carrier isn’t entertaining the idea of bringing unlimited data back from the Verizon graveyard.
“At this point, we are not going to entertain unlimited.”
AT&T recently launched a limited-time promotion that saw its U-verse and DirecTV customers able to sign up for unlimited data with the Big Blue network. It’s not extended to any AT&T customers that aren’t subscribed to U-verse or DirecTV, but for those customers at least unlimited data is an option.
