Beats Electronics today released its first product after being acquired by Apple — the Solo2 Wireless on-ear headphones. The headphones are similar to the company’s existing Solo2 headphones except that they are wireless.
As Beats boasts in its press release, the Solo2 offers a “dynamic sound and streamlined design” and is capable of providing up to 12 hours of audio playback on a single charge through its built-in battery. The headphones come with “fine-tuned acoustics for clarity, breath and balance” to deliver a “complete listening experience.” It also comes with a flexible headband and ergonomically angled ear cups to provide a natural fit and provide “optimal comfort and sound delivery.”
“We’re taking the most popular headphone in the world and adding wireless Bluetooth functionality to it,” said Beats President Luke Wood. “The Solo2 is already a world-class headphone much lauded for its acoustics, and now it joins our growing family of successful wireless products.”
The Beats Solo2 Wireless will be available in red, black, white and blue colors, and retail for $299.95. It will be available for purchase online through Apple’s store and select retailers offline. However, the Red Solo2 wireless headphone will be available exclusively on Verizon’s network until the end of 2014.
The company also announced a “Royal Edition” of colors for the wired version of Solo2. This includes colors like Stone Grey, Hunter Green, Imperial Violet, Blush Rose, and Sapphire Blue that feature “deep, rich qualities and a satin, iridescent finish.” The headphone will be available for $199.95 from Apple’s website and other retailers from this month.
